About Me
- Adolfo Rua
- Born in Madrid in 1960 in a family of artists, he develops a self-taught, intense and vital painting style. His first exhibition is at the age of 13 (1973) in Malaga. He paints every day and exhibits his work in the gallery the family ownes and in collective exhibitions with his brother Pedro Miguel. In search of his own pictorial essence he is attracted to the color and light of the city of Barcelona and moves to the bohemian Gothic Quarter in 1984. Between exhibitions and murals, he travels between Spain and other countries. In 2000, attracted by its Mediterranean mountains, streets and beaches he settles in Sitges, land of the impressionist painters, painting mainly landscapes and enjoying its energy. Currently living in Sitges, he travels to Holland, Italy and Morocco frequently in search of inspiration and is developing his work as much in subject matter as in color and light.
